Bay Area Search Meetup: Personalizing Search at LinkedIn

June 17, 2015

Join us for a talk on LinkedIn's approach to search, how we deliver highly personalized results at scale and some of our some recent advances in search. Abstract: LinkedIn search serves the information needs of 364MM+ members. Members search LinkedIn to connect with other members, find jobs, explore content and more. Compared to many other search engines, LinkedIn search experience is personalized at a deeper level. For instance, when a member searches for “software engineer”, depending on if the searcher is a recruiter, job seeker or content consumer, he or she could look for completely different sets of results. Delivering highly personalized results at scale comes with it’s own set of challenges. In this talk, we will discuss some of these challenges as well as go over some recent advances at LinkedIn towards addressing them. We will explore Learning-to-Rank techniques used to rank search results. Date: 06/24/2015
