Teams & Project Spotlights
Nuage
The aim of several backend engineering teams is to allow other teams to stay focused without having to worry about the complexities of different services. We want to make infrastructure invisible.
However, these large-scale services pose many challenges, including scalability, availability, reliability, efficiency, resiliency, serviceability, and manageability. We honed in on a few of these to ease the pain of service builders, specifically regarding serviceability and manageability, because we had a clear view of our manageability challenges, which inspired us to create a dedicated cloud management service, Nuage
Privacy Compliant Data Services
Domain owners define new entities using Data Realm data service framework. This framework provides building blocks to create new data services effortlessly in a matter of days.
Data Realm
Data Realm is a privacy-compliant data platform to manage all Economic Graph (EG) data to power LinkedIn first party products. Data Realm provides a rich homogeneous data layer to manage the EG dataset.
● This data layer provides ability to introduce new entities in matter of days while ensuring that privacy is enforced at all times at data layer.
● It provides rich query ability constructs (built using GraphQL) to query and join this large dataset in declarative fashion.
● This data layer spans across execution environments (online, near line and offline) to provide consistent data models, access patterns and policy enforcement.
GraphQL Service
All the Entities and Edges defined as Data Realm data services are queryable through GraphQL API. It provides rich query ability using an openCRUD based query language which is fully GraphQL compliant. The data services use this GraphQL API for implementing privacy rules that require data from other entities.
