MongoDB: An Introduction

MongoDB is becoming an increasingly popular choice as a NoSQL database used for building web applications. This introductory talk will cover some of the problems MongoDB was created to solve, and then move on to MongoDB's features and architecture. We'll also take a look at how MongoDB is used by some real-world applications.

Speaker

Chris Westin started his career many years ago working on the Oracle RDBMS kernel. Since then, he has served as an engineer or architect on projects spanning diverse areas of Softtware Engineering, including component software technology research at Microsoft, UI toolkit construction at TiVo, and large-scale web publishing systems at Yahoo!. He's surprised to find that he has come full circle and returned to databases: as an engineer at 10gen, he works on the MongoDB server, a database specifically designed for large-scale web applications.
