Applications

We're proud of our distributed Java applications capable of serving billions of page views to over 150 million LinkedIn members across browsers, iPads, iPhones, Android and Blackberry phones. Our engineers are responsible for architecting, designing, developing, and supporting the most visible Internet-scale features and infrastructure at LinkedIn. We work across the entire stack, from the data layer (Oracle, MySQL, Voldemort, Memcached), to the distributed service layer (REST, RPC), all the way to the frontend presentation tier (Spring, Grails, JRuby, Node.js).

I love working with some of the smartest people in the industry on hard problems. It’s an opportunity to learn new things each day.
I love the monthly Hackdays. Build anything you can dream of.
Every Hackday, my coworkers push the bar a little higher. I'm very grateful to be able to work with rock star engineers.
Besides presenting me with exciting new technical challenges each day, LinkedIn offers me unique opportunities to meet with thought leaders and industry influencers through the in-house speaker series and contribute back to silicon valley through volunteering and mentorship programs.

Systems and Infrastructure

We're building the next-generation data, storage and search platform. Help us scale LinkedIn infrastructure to handle massive data growth across the LinkedIn ecosystem as we experience dramatic growth in membership and products. Bring your experience in distributed technologies and algorithms and a strong systems orientation (multi-threading, concurrency, scalability, performance). You should understand frameworks for caching, queuing, and distributed data storage, and be excited to work on cutting edge open-source systems.

Build highly scalable, highly performant social graph engines, state-of-the-art full-text search engines, and platforms for applied data analytics. You need experience in data mining, information retrieval and/or machine learning, and a strong systems orientation.

Tools

The LinkedIn automation and tools team designs and builds core systems and processes that provide the infrastructure for our professional networking site and applications. With our site experiencing dramatic growth, we are seeking engineers to join our team and contribute to taking LinkedIn to the next level. You will focus on building the monitoring, performance measurement, deployment automation, testing frameworks and internal work flow for development, QA, operations, and release control in a very large scale, high visibility, 7x24 mission-critical production environment.
