Kafka is a distributed messaging system developed at LinkedIn for collecting and delivering high volumes of log data with low latency. Our system incorporates ideas from existing log aggregators and messaging systems, and is suitable for both offline and online message consumption.
We recently announced the release of version 0.6. Today, we're happy to announce that Kafka has been accepted as an Apache incubator project! In the next month or so, we will be transitioning Kafka from Github to Apache's infrastructure. We hope that the Kafka community will grow faster under Apache and more people will be using and supporting Kafka in the future.
